About HalalBiz
HalalBiz helps Muslims in Canada find halal food, mosques and Muslim-owned businesses they can trust.
What HalalBiz is
HalalBiz is a free online directory of halal restaurants, grocery stores, butcher shops, mosques and service providers across Canada. We started in Toronto in 2024, and most of our listings are in the Greater Toronto Area, with more in British Columbia and Alberta.
Today HalalBiz lists 458 places in 41 cities.
How listings work
- Listing a business is free. Owners can add their business any time, and can pay a one-time fee to be Featured for extra visibility.
- Food listings show halal details, such as the certifier, whether meat is zabiha and whether alcohol or pork is served, only after the owner or the community has confirmed them.
- Visitors share halal details, Jummah times and tips through Community Notes. We review notes and remove spam and advertising.
Support
In 2025, HalalBiz received a grant from YTB (Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities, Türkiye) to grow the platform.
What's next
We're building the HalalBiz Marketplace, an online shop where halal and Muslim-owned businesses in Canada can sell their products. Sellers can join the waitlist now.
